加拿大7月零售增長0.3%遜預期 8月初值下滑 X

<匯港通訊>     加拿大統計局公布，7月零售銷售貨值升0.3%至661億加元，升幅低於市場預期的0.4%；8月銷售初值滑落0.3%，是3月以來首度下跌。

統計局稱，7月核心零售銷貨值增長1.3%。CIBC 高級經濟師 Katherine Judge 表示，數據顯示零售增長主要來自雜貨銷售升1.3%，反映民眾因應通脹及利率高，較多選擇在家中吃飯，消費服務業勢必放緩。至於8月初值，她認為與山火肆虐有關。

她估計，即使9月零售表現好轉，第三季的趨勢相信呈下滑，年率化跌幅介乎2.5%至3.5%。預料數據不會影響央行的利率決定。  （BC)
