加拿大央行意外加息0.25厘至4.75厘為22年最高 X

<匯港通訊>     加拿大央行意外加息0.25厘,隔夜利率上調至4.75厘的22年最高;市場預計7月央行會再加息0.25厘,以遏制過熱的經濟和高通脹。

央行仍然認為,通脹將在今年夏天放緩至3%,但並未像4月預測時重申通脹將在明年底前慢慢降至2%的目標。


加拿大央行自去年3月以來,已經8次加息,利率升至4.5厘,是央行歷來最快的一輪政策收緊周期。
        

央行的聲明表示,意外強勁的消費者支出, 加上服務需求反彈,樓市活動回升及勞動力市場緊張,都表明經濟中的過剩需求較預期更加持久。  （BC)
